In coming to Good Shepherd Shelter, mothers choose to break the cycle of abuse and take on the leadership of and responsibility for their families. To support this courageous choice, we offer individual and group therapy to rebuild self-confidence and personal dignity. We also provide mothers with tools to develop as persons, parents and providers with our Adult Learning Center, which offers a spectrum of practical training from household to financial management to the development of job and computer skills.

We extend our comprehensive rebuilding to children at Good Shepherd Shelter as well. We foster growth in self-expression and self-worth through our Preschool and Elementary Tutorial Center.

The long-term care at Good Shepherd Shelter guides families through the complex social, psychological and educational issues that confront them. We provide families with apartments where mothers can establish new family goals, routines and traditions, and initiate a hope-filled life for herself and her children.

As each mother leaves Good Shepherd Shelter, we offer a reliable support network to assist in making this transition a success.

Healing families is a lengthy and costly endeavor, but you can help break the cycle of violence by support Good Shepherd Shelter.
